Charlotte wins a National Photographic Competition

01st June 2012
Retford Photographic Society run a Student's Photographic Club at the Elizabethan High School in Retford. This year the pupils attending the club entered the national cpmpetition run by the Oxford University Press [OUP]. The students had to enter a photograph that illustrated a mathematical concept and add a caption to explain why the photograph did just that. At the club the students took a series of photographs on subjects such as reflections and perspective. Six pupils entered a variety of work for the competition and several of the photographs were displayed on the OUP website. Charlotte Southwell was disapointed that her photograph was not displayed with the others - but was soon cheered up when the OUP wrote to say that, out of thousands of entries, her photograph had won!
