Online competition in aid of Mind

12th April 2015
Dear Retford and District Photographic Society,

My name is Laura Tan and I am currently working for Cambridge University and the Open University and have a dual interest in mental health and getting people to be more creative e.g. taking great photos!

I am getting in touch as I have organised an online creative arts competition in aid of Mind (the mental health charity) in the hope of raising awareness of mental health issues whilst allowing people to get creative too! The competition is being judged by a leading psychologist, Dr. Shivani Sharma (University of Hertfordshire) with interests in mental health issues and bullying, particularly that which affects children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I would love to extend a warm welcome to anyone you might know who might be interested!

Invitation to take part in an online Creative Arts Competition fundraiser in aid of Mind (the mental health charity)…Simply get your creative juices flowing and create a motivating poem, write a song. draw a picture or take a photograph inspired by the theme of ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’. The competition is open to anybody, of any age – absolutely anybody! There is a suggested entry fee of £2 although of course you are free to donate more if you wish. You can aso donate but not enter too if you don't want to take part! Competition closes 31st May 2015 and will be judged by a leading psychologist with interests in mental health, Dr. Shivani Sharma (University of Hertfordshire). Raising awareness, raising money and hopefully raising your spirits too! For more details visit the fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LauraTan.
